Over the past few of years Elopements have really taken off in popularity and it’s not hard to see why. For starters they are much more affordable and less stressful than a traditional wedding. Many couples want to save money and time by avoiding the expenses and hassles of planning a big wedding. They also want to avoid the pressure and expectations of family and friends, and focus on their own happiness and intimacy. Plus elopements are far more personal and meaningful for most couples and provide control and flexibility over the wedding day. Finally an elopement is just more adventurous and romantic than a standard wedding, in my opinion, wo why wouldn’t you plan one. Many couples want to have a fun and exciting wedding that involves travelling to a new or exotic place, like for example the Blue Mountains just outside Sydney.
I may be biased because I am a Photographer based in the Blue Mountains but I think the Blue Mountains are the perfect place for an elopement. But don’t just take my word for it. Check out this Blue Mountains Elopement with Sam & Sam that has to be seen to be believed. Now firstly yes both of their names are Sam! Trust me I had trouble asking either of them to look at me hahaha. These two have to be the most fun and adventurous couple I have ever worked with. Their Blue Mountains elopement took us on a 1km hike high up near Mount Banks for a crazy photoshoot location. It did get a little scary at times when they were standing on the edge of a cliff but I guess what is the point of an elopement if it doesn’t get a little crazy.
