Louisa & Josh’s Sydney Wedding was honestly one of the most incredible Weddings I have ever photographed. I started the Day with Bridal Prep Photography at Louisa’s Family home in West Pennant Hills capturing details and just spending time with the Bride and Bridesmaids before moving on to their Wedding Ceremony at their local church of St Matthews Anglican in West Pennant Hills. One thing that immediately struck me were the Wedding Florals by Amy Kay who designed not only the Bridal Bouquets but also the floral arrangements on the stage in the Church. They really set the colour scheme and popped out in every photograph throughout the day. Louisa also looked elegant as ever in her Wedding Dress from the wonderful Brides of Beecroft plus her custom Wedding Veil from Dappled Grace.
They couldn’t have asked for better weather on their Wedding Day as we went out for portraits in the afternoon. Sydney Harbour played backdrop to some incredible Wedding Photos as we walked around the Coal Loader in Waverton and then moved on to Balls Head Reserve. Sydney Wedding Photography doesn’t get much better than being high on a cliff edge overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge as the sun sets behind you. Following our formal photos we moved on to the Glasshouse in Artarmon which was the Reception Venue for the Wedding. A relatively new Sydney Wedding Venue, Glasshouse was an incredible spot for a summer Wedding as the sun beamed in through the side glass windows late into the long summer evening providing a warm glow to the space. Congratulations Louisa & Josh on a wonderful marriage and I wish you both the best for your life together!
I loved
That these two brought an Esky of drinks along to their photo session. Yes I love a drink so thanks Josh & Louisa for offering me one, but it was also great for all of the Bridesmaids & Groomsmen because it made everyone relax and just hang out. It gave everyone something to do which let their guard down and we made some great images because of it. Plus this was a hot afternoon so a cool drink was most appreciated!
Something Unique?
In the middle of their Reception these guys played games about the newlyweds which I thought was just a great way to entertain the crowd. It gave everyone a laugh while we all learnt something about the happy couple at the same time! I find that Wedding Receptions can often be a weird place for guests who often don’t get to speak to the Newlyweds so playing games with everyone was a great way to make all the guests feel included.
Time-Savers?
One of the biggest timesavers here was that the Bride Louisa got ready at her house which was very Close to the Church where she was getting married which cut the travel time for the day down significantly. Too often I see couples travelling over 30 minutes to get to their Ceremony location on the morning of their Wedding which stresses everyone out and adds so much time and uncertainty to the day.
