8 Amazing Wedding Venues in Dubbo!

One thing that followers of my work may or may not know is that I was actually born and raised in the country town of Dubbo, NSW. About 5 hours North-West of Sydney, Dubbo is an amazing community and in this blog post I want to showcase some of my absolute favourite Wedding Venues in Dub-Vegas!

Taronga Western Plains Zoo

The Zoo will always be the number one thing that Dubbo is known for, however, did you also know that the Western Plains Zoo is also an amazing Venue for your special day! With several different Ceremony and Reception venues, both indoors and outdoors, Dubbo Zoo is the perfect venue for a relaxed wedding out in the country. If you are interested in getting married at Dubbo Zoo, check out these photos I took at Ben & Dusti’s Outdoor Wedding at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.

Lazy River Estate

Another special place along the banks of Dubbo’s Macquarie River is Lazy River Estate. Established in 1997, this vineyard lays host to one of the most beautiful wedding backdrops found anywhere in the Central West. Their permanent outdoor Chapel is the most beautiful place for a spring ceremony with a reception in the function centre just 100m away.

Down the Lane

Offering a different vibe from the previous venues, Down the Lane is a Wine and Cocktail bar right in the Heart of Dubbo. While it may not have the open expanses of land like some other venues, this place more than makes up for it with a rustic yet modern atmosphere that is to die for and more than enough space for the whole extended family. Plus being in town makes it super easy and convenient for everyone when the night is over.

Curban Community Hall

Another interesting little venue that you probably haven’t heard of is Curban Community Hall. Located about an hour north of Dubbo near Gilgandra, this little community hall is such a quaint little spot set against the backdrop of the real outback. If you’re looking for a country wedding, this is the spot for you!

Toongi Hall

While we’re on the theme of little unknown places, how about Toongi Hall! This place prides itself on being a little bit different and I think the best thing about it is that you can really customise the whole day to suit your style. Located about 20 minutes south of Dubbo’s CBD this little place really does have it all from the 1930’s Hall to the grassy knoll down by the creek.

Dundullimal Homestead

Not convinced that an old hall is the right way to go. Well how about the Oldest surviving slab house in Australia, Dundullimal Homestead. Overlooking the mighty Macquarie River this gorgeous old homestead could be the perfect backdrop to your garden wedding out in the Dubbo Region.

Outback Cellar Dubbo

Set on Over 100 acres of farm land just outside Dubbo, Outback Cellar would make for the perfect country wedding location. Not only do these guys have a Chapel and a view overlooking the river, they also have onsite accommodation which can take away a lot of hassle on your wedding night.

Cobbora Hall

Rounding out this list is another little Community Hall that I have always admired every time I drive past. Located about a 40 minute drive from Dubbo and around an hour from nearby Mudgee, Cobbora Hall is a rustic yet romantic venue with the perfect mix of country and modern vibes. Country weddings are definitely back in style and these guys just seem to know how to pull them off time and time again.
